The Civics Spark Camp offers any students from grades 5 through 8* the opportunity to enhance public speaking, develop debate skills, and dive into American civics, all at no cost.

Students from other grades are also accepted on a conditional basis*

The camp will have adult Camp Counselors to supervise though!

Executive Director & Cofounder

Aksh Dantal

As a frequent competitor on the national debate circuit, Aksh is the 9th best debater in the nation through the University of Kentucky's Tournament of Champions. In Ohio, he is ranked the 4th best House debater in high school, and was ranked 2nd best in middle school.

Evan Brockway

Evan is a rising senior at Ursuline High School, and has competed locally and nationally throughout his debate career. He is a two time NSDA National Qualifier and Ohio State Finals qualifier. He has amassed an impressive 6 state bids on the local Youngstown circuit just this past season.

Mason Sylvester

In his 5th year in debate, Mason is already ranked the best Senate debater in Ohio and is an NSDA National Qualifier. Mason has also successfully founded the Howland High School Mock Trial Team. Outside of the world of debate, Mason is also a community activist, campaigning to raise funds to curb human trafficking both locally and internationally.

Arjun Tuli

Arjun is currently ranked the 15th best House debater in the Ohio. Nationally, he's one of only a handful of Ohio debaters who have qualified for the University of Kentucky's Tournament of Champions and NSDA Nationals. He's also seen great success as a coach, mentoring two of his students to the Ohio State Finals.
